Senté Fall '22 Rivendell Workshop Brookings Oregon

This advanced training retreat is set in the majestic beaches and redwood forests of the Oregon Coast. It continues the tradition of remarkable Senté workshop retreats spanning the past two decades, and previously conducted in New Zealand.

The Fall 2020 Rivendell Retreat is designed as a restorative change experience that will tie directly to this year's Carrying the Fire monthly video broadcasts. Participants will immerse in a 6 day uninterrupted practicum experience and a relaxing escape from the pressures and travails of modern life with a very small group of fellow students.

This workshop is designed to leave you with the enhanced ability to See and Be Seen, Choose and be Chosen, and to Reach and be Reachable.

It will send waves coursing through your love life, your profession, your personal or spiritual path, and your friendship circle. These waves will tend to make your positive qualities clearly evident to others even in cases of incredibly short exposure. Even better, they will dampen the instincts and reactions within you that might otherwise repel advanced attention.

There are two identical small group sessions offered:

  • Session #1: Sept. 21-Sept. 26 with a preparatory meeting (via zoom) on Sept. 17 from 10am -1pm
  • Session #2. Oct. 5-Oct. 10 with a preparatory meeting (via zoom) on Oct. 1 from 10am -1pm

Attendance in the workshop is at the discretion of Paul. Contact [email protected] for further information or clarification.

The cost of the workshop is $1900. This includes 5 nights lodging, the lectures and events, and three dinners. There is a $200 non-refundable deposit upon application (payable to [email protected]), and the balance of $1700 is due by August 10. You make your final payment via this page. After August 10 your enrollment fees are non refundable. Please see the posted Covid Policy and read it carefully. We recommend you plan carefully, take covid precautions seriously in the two weeks prior to the work shop, and have travel insurance and flight insurance.
What should I bring with me?
The Oregon Coast weather is in general temperate, but changeable. You can expect it to be significantly cooler than the Rogue Valley (yesterday it was 98 degrees in Medford and 68 degrees in Brookings--that is typical.) Beaches can be windy. Mornings are often cool and foggy and then the sun comes out mid day and it is gorgeous and warm (usually around 60-65 degrees). September and early October weather historically is fairly dry and has lovely fall weather. Bring layers, and be sure to have a fleece or jacket with you and a raincoat. Bring a small day pack and a water bottle. Have walking shoes (and perhaps also sandals with good traction.) You may want mosquito repellant. If you are local and driving to the event bringing a folding camp chair is a good idea. If the weather is amenable we may choose to meet on a beach or somewhere where you may prefer a chair to sitting on the ground. As a we get closer to the event we will update this information so do check back. Thanks!
What are the sleeping accommodations?
For the Fall workshop we are housing people in two nice locations: either in a home in Gold Beach we are renting that is overlooking the mouth of the Rogue River (which will house the majority of attendees), or in our house in Brookings. Both locations are quite comfortable. They are about 25 minutes apart, and the drive between them is a stunning stretch of gorgeous beaches. The majority of people will have their own room. Some rooms will be shared or a bathroom may be shared. We anticipate that each household, as in past years, will create a micro-environment where interesting discussions and practice and processing may go on in between scheduled activities. A valuable part of the experience of a Sente event is jumping into the Mystery together with Paul and Patty and interacting and creating a household with classmates in a new environment.
